the raf project
Located in London’s Mayfair, overlooking Green Park, the Royal Air Force Club offers luxurious and peaceful surroundings and a ‘home from home feel’ to serving and former officers of the RAF and Allied Air Forces. Founded in 1918 and opening its doors in 1922, the Club’s elegant interior has been enhanced to its present high standard. As a Charity, their aim is to continue to support the Royal Air Force by preserving and fostering the esprit de corps and traditions of the RAF. With striking aviation artwork lining the walls, eye-catching stained glass windows and the unique squadron badge corridor, a truly fascinating history is brought to life at 128 Piccadilly.
Futurefile was appointed to work with the Project Manager, Gary Hornby and the Architect Kimberley Scally from Paul Murphy Architects to assist the RAF Club with their supply chain management and the delivery and installation of furniture for a new six storey extension.
We put together a team to work alongside the Paul Murphy Architects and Gary Hornby. Our team consisted of a project director, specifier, project coordinator and a delivery and installation team. We arranged various showroom tours with the architect and client to finalise the furniture selection. Our team then issued a technical quotation to obtain sign off to procure the furniture. We supplied furniture for the new business lounge (executive task chairs, leather stools, leather boardroom chairs, meeting tables and glass wipe boards. We also supplied bedroom furniture, staff training room furniture (flip top tables and chairs), café chairs, tables and stools. Our team ran a small workshop to help with the selection of fabrics and finishes to ensure they met with the architects look and feel.
We achieved the architects look and feel and delivered amazing spaces to a high standard. The project teams from Futurefile, Paul Murphy Architects and Gary Hornby worked seamlessly together for the client to deliver a high quality project. All parties involved are extremely pleased with all aspects of this project and are incredibly proud that the new extension was opened by the Queen.
We look forward to working with the team again in the future.

“Dean and Futurefile provided great assistance in specifying and supplying furniture to meet tight deadlines on a recent project.
Dean’s knowledge and ‘can-do’ attitude took away many project delivery concerns from the client. The room in which the furniture was placed was used as part of a Royal visit.
It has been a pleasure working with Dean, and I would highly recommend Futurefile to anyone seeking office furniture”
